Iodine - the magical solution!

Hi everyone,

We observed how the iodine solution changed its colour after a few drops of it was added to the food items.

Iodine in its natural form is brown in colour. It turns blue-black when starch is added to it.

Your recordings:

Good observation!

              Your experiment:
Watch the change in colour of the iodine solution!

Videos on flowers changing colours

Hi Darlings,

Here is another interesting website with videos:
http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/content/kitchenscience/exp/colour-your-own-flowers/

Please read and give your comments on these questions:

1) Which part of the flower do you see the change in colour first?
2) Is the colouring of the flower evenly spread?
3) Which part of the flower do you think needs water most?

Enjoy the video and reading!

More videos on Flowers & their colours

Hi Everyone,

Some videos that I have found to illustrate how the white flowers change their colours with the help of food dye!

Think Think Think!!!
Can you also think of ways to make a stalk of white flower become a multi-coloured flower?
There are some conditions that you need to follow - you only have a stalk of white flower and 2 bottles of red and blue food dye with two beakers of water.
